The photography of Jennifer Karady in the series Soldiers’ Stories from Iraq and Afghanistan

How do you share everything that is in your head? For veterans in the US, you work with Jennifer Karady. Lending her exceptional artistic eye to the community of veterans returning home from wars abroad, Karady’s narrative photographic works are born of deep, qualitative research and collaborative artistic development with her subjects. The results illustrate the competing pulls between the soldiers’ experiences in battle and their present lives at home. The images they share are powerful, eloquent, and inherently ethnographic.
